Christians do not need to understand pagans, and I could care less whether pagans understand me.
Apparently, there was a blogging event recently that brought the two interest groups together and is making a buzz among the serious bloggers. As the two groups met to defend their beliefs, the rules were changed. Each group was instructed to attack their beliefs rather than the other groups. To be critical and harsh on the things about their beliefs that they feel is wrong. To the amazement of all of readers, each group and their audience came away with a better understanding of the issues, themselves and their beliefs, and for the first time, Christians and pagans were able to talk openly together in a new joining of their "one world" connected mentality. BIG PROBLEM...The Word of God has told Christians repeatedly to avoid the abominations and idolatrous believers...
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:14-18 AV)
The Word of God has told us repeatedly to avoid "pretend Christians" who are followers of false doctrine...
“But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.” (Titus 3:9-11 AV)
To avoid the company of fornicators, covetous, extortioners, idolaters in the world, and in the midst of gathered Christians....
“I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.” (1 Corinthians 5:9-13 AV)
It doesn't get much plainer than that! The Commission of Jesus Christ that tasks us to spread His Gospel throughout the world, does not mean to go to the wicked and evil worshippers of false gods and attack your faith in their presence! Is there not a sane Christian left in this world? Does anyone out there understand what type of position this places Christian faith in? Does anyone know how this practice attacks our Lord Jesus Christ and his followers?
Brothers and Sisters in Christ...I should not have to remind any of you to avoid the wicked of the world...that should be your natural desire as a result of your new birth into Jesus Christ. At this point in our times, it is critical that we are extra observant among our own gatherings, in our own fellowships, in our own congregations, that the wicked people of the world do not destroy us.
IT IS CRUCIAL that Christians avoid fellowship and friendship with the idoltrous people of the world.....IT IS CRITICAL that Christians separate themselves from known wickedness, and gather together in the congregation of fellow Christians to uphold each other in these terrible days. And for God's sake.......STOP ATTACKING MY LORD JESUS CHRIST, his faithful followers, and their beliefs in the midst of the wicked worldly! I could care less whether a pagan understands me or my faith....they are not a part of my Kingdom, and I will never be a part of theirs!

Im a little taken back by your blog here. I dont see why christians should exclude themselves from all friendships with non-belivers because we are unrighteous. As a pagan, i have a firm set of moral and ethical values, and i dont think i am a nasty person just because i dont follow the christian doctrine. Just a thought, i have many christian friends and im sure you could find plenty of nice, sane pagans that arent half bad.
Annoymous,
You sound like a very nice and sane person. For you to mention your firm set of moral and ethical values, leads me to believe that you must have a solid belief and direction to your life.
I am nice and sane also...and I have a firm set of moral and ethical values. You would think that because we have these things in common, that we could be friends.
But I cannot be a friend with you as long as you remain in communion with darkness. Your religion rejects the God I serve. The actions and beliefs of your religion make you unclean and unrighteous. As a result, My God is very firm that I do not become "yoked" with you.
Oh....I can smile at you, and tell you hi if we pass in the street...and I can certainly pray for you and tell you about the life of light and fellowship as a strong Christian...but it stops there.
We might even share committees or fund raisings or laughter in the park....But it will lead to nothing...
The God I serve tells me to remain separate from the infedels of the world that reject His Things, His Way and His Word.
So I remain separate, until God brings those special people that He gives a chance to hear His Word...sometimes He calls pagans, and sometimes He calls patriots, and sometimes He calls the bottom of the barrel, most imoral and nasty of a person...It's His Choice!
And when He calls them, and leads them my way...I'm ready to tell them about the opportunity of receiving and accepting faith in Jesus Christ, and the promise of eternal life forever! And when that person hears the message, and repents and rejects the life of darkness, walking toward the righteous life of Christ in faith...that person becomes MY FRIEND...as well as the friend to many brothers and sisters in Christ.
Sadly...until you reject the worship of a pagan god over the most powerful, all knowing, Creator LORD GOD...then you can not be a friend of a true Christian.
Thank you for your politeness. If you want to learn more about Jesus Christ, let me know...I can share his love forever!

Dear Bucker,
I communicate the hope of the Lord Jesus Christ within me every day to unbelievers. I believe that at the end of the day God will be concerned with these things: Did I love the LORD God with all my heart and did I love others as Christ asked me to. Do you forget that you were once a non-believer. I assume that as a non-believer you are claiming that not one single Christian ever loved or befriended you? What sort of witness is that for the Lord? I was a person that travelled pagan paths and I was befriended and loved by a Christian who expressed to me their hope within. No, they did not move on what they knew to be true, but I was not rejected by them just because it took a while to "get" it. Do you forget the humanity behind the labels of Christian or Pagan? Do you forget that everybody hurts? Do you forget that our Father in Heaven loves everyone and that we all miss His mark. The only difference is that the ones who recieve Christ are covered by His blood. Believe me Bucker, if I had not been loved by a Christian first, I could not have believed Christ was Love. My 2 cents.
To the last post from the Christian Anonymous,
You are so right! We must never hesitate to witness the Good News of our Jesus Christ to all of the unsaved that has ears to hear, and that includes Wiccans. I can talk to them all day about my Jesus Christ.
But here is my point. We cannot participate in their lifestyle. We cannot share their false gods. We cannot give them equal time to talk about their false gods.
Now I don't know about you, but my love for my God is what makes me, me. I share the LORD God with everyone of my friends, and they share Him with me. I assume that the Wiccan is proud of her love of her nature false god, and would want that equal opportunity.
It is not going to happen. My LORD God is a very jealous God, and is watching me! I'm not going to let Him ever see me hanging around in friendship with people who worship other things!
If a Wiccan wants to hear about my God, I can talk all day and into the night. We can laugh and cry and talk together in the witness situation. BUT...I will not be hanging out with anyone who worships false gods or goddesses.
I read an article yesterday that was written by a very intelligent, and very homosexual man named Jonathan Rauch. His article was entitled "Let it Be" and it was published in the Atlantic Monthly in 2002. He made a provoking comment about all of his "Christian" friends...
"I have Christian friends who organize their lives around an intense and personal relationship with God, but who betray no sign of caring that I am an unrepentantly atheistic Jewish homosexual."
Jonathan calls this lack of care with the made up word "apatheism." This word speaks about not caring about the god that anyone else worships. He suggests that Christians who let their friends go in the wrong direction are suffering from this same apathetic condition as an unbeliever.
Anytime we stand firm and boldly declare our LORD God to be the only one, reachable only through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, we are giving love and friendship to anyone who will hear. They must come up to God, however, and not expect the Christian to wallow in the mire of their false gods in an effort to rescue them.

Hello:
I am a Catholic, and I have plenty of friends who are pagans, and are very pleasant people.
Albeit our differences, I believe that pagans and Christians should be friends, and not get too quick to judge, or critical.
It is not fair when I hear Christians condemning pagans to hell for all eternity, when there are many Christians who are for ungodly shit, while many pagans are not.
So maybe some Christians should think about their attitude towards pagans, and come to realization that maybe, perhaps, they are in the wrong..........and leave the innocent pagan alone.
Catholic Annoymous,
I want to make sure you realize what you are saying and that it is what you meant to say...
You are friends with a group of people that hate the God you worship? You hang-out with people who summon the devil with incantations?
Normally, I would blame your denomination; however, I believe that you priest and your pope would discourage friendships with those that hate your God. In fact, I can think of no reason whatsoever, why anyone would want to hang out with someone that hates anything that another loves.
If your wiccan friends hated your mother and father and sister and brother or son or daughter or wife, or girlfriend or boyfriend, would you embrace their friendship?
Are you the type of person that thrives on hatred? Do you understand what a wiccan worships?
Do you know that being a Catholic, means that you should worship and serve the LORD God? Do you know that if He sees you going to the places the wiccans go to summon their false gods, that He will turn his back on you?
I'm afraid that you are not aware of what a wiccan believes, and you most certainly do not have strong faith and practice in your worship of the LORD God. Sincere Christians avoid going to the places where the devil is summoned, even if the wiccans are being nice about it when they call evil near!
